I have recently started reading a beautiful and inspring Book called "Behind the big red door" , It's about a childrens hospice called helen house - The first ever childrens hospice in the world !

My dear friend Rachel's body was taken there after she sadly died on the 25th of January 2007 of non hodgkins lymphoma, just 3 days before she turned 14 ! I like to say that "Only the very best die young " And Rachel proved that saying to be right ! She was a lovely kind hearted person , Who everyone would love ! She was supposed to go there to die , But couldn't because at the very last stages of Rach's precious life she was on a life support machine ! R.I.P Beautiful angel Rachel , Find your wings and fly ! I can't wait for the day when I will see her again !!!

Rachel Looking incredibly embaressed with santa !!
The last time I ever saw Rachel alive and well !
And it's Children Like Rachel , that helen house takes care of , In there times of need !People often associate Hospices as places where people go to die , But Helen House is a place for living , Not just a place for dying! Helen House has helped many people over the past 25 years , Doing what they do best , Loving,Living,Caring and Hoping !
An extract from the book !
An alternative Job Description for care team members as written by some of the team in 1992
- Someone who doesn't eat the children's chocolate drops
- Someone who can read Enid Blyton for hours without whining
- Someone who looks pretty and has the muscles of Tarzan
- Someone who is a cordon bleu cook but really doesn't mind when everyone is on a diet and can, with a smile, stretch midday lunch to accomodate another twenty because they changed their minds at 11.45am
- Someone who understands that even sick children can be little toads at times
- Someone who sounds eternally positive whatever the situation, in the manner of Joyce Grenfell
- Someone who does not insist that all children should watch "neighbours" and "Home and away"
- Someone who can be surrounded by children choking and not turn a hair
- Someone who loves all adventures and is happy to sleep out in the garden overnight with their feet sticking out of the door of a child's size tent
- Someone who doesn't mind when their car is blocked in when it is time to go home.
A beautiful book ! - Read it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
